Community Radio from Ontonagon, MI

88.5 WOAS-FM, Ontonagon, MI
Your Sound Choice
We may only broadcast 10 watts (which translates to about a 17 mile radius from our tower in Ontonagon) but we are now available world-wide on the (apologies to Michael Jonathon) the World Wide Wait (WWW) 😉 . Since our website reboot, we have had only minor problems and we will strive to keep the tech support on board so maintain an active web presence and don’t end up to be a dead end.

Educational - Community Radio

We have been bringing educational programming and an eclectic variety of music to northern Ontonagon County (MI) since December of 1978.  With the addition of our www.woas-fm.org site, we are now accessible world wide!

Ken Raisanen, General Manager

A retired Geography-Earth Science teacher after 43 years in the trenches, I remain the volunteer GM for YOUR SOUND CHOICE – Each and every WOAS-FM volunteer is just that – a person who volunteers their time and talents to the betterment of our little FM station.

Audio Services for the Ontonagon Area Schools

WOAS-FM works with the Ontonagon Area Schools staff and students to provide audio services for programs, dances, and other activities.

Community Involvment

Since the refurbished ONTONAGON THEATER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS was refurbished, WOAS-FM has worked hand in hand with them to help support theater engagements from plays to musical performances.  We have proudly helped promote concerts or presentations by Yyvone Blake, Bruce Rundman, Measured Chaos, Trees, the NMU Concert Band, Kitty Donohoe, former Green Bay Packer Chester Marchol and the Rusty Wright Band.
